MEMO: Trading Mason Rudolph just makes sense. It saves the team $3 million, basically which was their plan in the first place. He had his chance to improve for four(4) years, now it’s time for #NextManUp He is just too much like Landry Jones, good one day..bad the next. No consistency whatsoever.
Although he played fairly well against the Seahawks on Saturday, that was basically an audition for other teams who absolutely NEED a quarterback. I mean let’s face it..they didn’t sign Trubisky and draft two quarterbacks if they had trust in Rudolph.

To be honest it is a good problem to have, with two 1st round draft picks and a 3rd round pick as your quarterbacks. But at this point and time it is time for Rudolph to get a change of scenery. Because he will not be the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh..that’s a given.
Plus, if you cannot beat the Cleveland Browns on a regular basis you will not be the quarterback for our team for long. #HereWeGo
Let me put it like this, the Pittsburgh Steelers do not need to address the tight end position in any round of the 2021 NFL Draft. All they need to do is hit the rewind button.
Penn. State alum and former Steelers tight end, Jesse James is the immediate answer to the TE position prior to the retirement of Vance McDonald. I mean come on now, the guy changed his Twitter profile pic back to him in Black & Gold nearly a month ago.

In James’ four(4) year tenure with Pittsburgh, he accumulated 1,189 yards and nine(9) touchdowns. And it is important to note that his yardage per year from 2015 to 2018 was..56..338..372 and 423. Every season his yards went up, 14.2 yards per catch in 2018.
Once signing with the Detroit Lions his statistics dropped drastically, mainly because he had a much lesser quarterback and role in the Lions offense. James in two(2) seasons with Detroit only racked up 271 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Not to mention Jesse James had a controversial TD called off against the much hated New England Patriots in week 15 of the 2018 NFL Season.
Enter current Steelers TE Eric Ebron, the former Lions and Indianapolis Colts tight end who in one(1) season with Pittsburgh ended with 558 yards and five(5) touchdowns. And let’s not forget a fan favorite.
Not to mention Ebron and James are still relatively young, Eric(28) and Jesse(26) both still have a lot in the tank.
So why bother with drafting a tight end in the draft? At least not in the early rounds, although there are a few that can be picked up later on. Notre Dame’s Tommy Tremble and Hunter Long from Boston College should be available in the 3rd or even 4th round. Neither of them have matching initials like E.E & J.J.
Having said that, I believe the Pittsburgh Steelers will bring James back within the week. And they will most likely pick up one of the two mentioned above in the draft. SO IT IS WRITTEN! #HereWeGo
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport, Detroit Lions special teams star will be leaving the Motor City and signing a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Killebrew, the 6’2″..222 lb. joined Detroit in 2016 as a fourth-round draft pick out of Southern Utah, becoming the highest draft pick in the school’s history.
He appeared in all 16 games as a rookie. His first career interception came against New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.null
In 2020, Killebrew missed a game against the Atlanta Falcons for the birth of his first child.
“I wasn’t able to make the game, because my wife was actually in labor, and we welcomed our first child, Stormy J. Killebrew, into this world,” Killebrew told WJR.
“I was trying to figure out any way that we could align it, so that maybe I could make it down there and come back or we can have the baby. When it came down to it, I said, ‘I’m going to be here for my baby — and that’s what we did.'”
Seriously, who cares about him disciplining his children? Personally I think these bad ass kids nowadays need their asses whooped when it calls for it. Because I believe many would look past all that for the opportunity to pick up proverbial Hall of Fame running back, Adrian Peterson.
At the age of 35, Peterson still has quite a bit left in the tank. Not a 5 year deal fuel left of course, but a good 1 maybe two in order mentor and groom young RB’s on the roster. Hopefully one of those young running backs can be college standout, Najee Harris out of Alabama.
Peterson was a seven-time Pro Bowler, a four-time first-team All-Pro and he was also named 2012 NFL MVP after rushing for 2,097 yards and 12 touchdowns. The fuel is still in the tank do to bouncing around to teams that did not use him and his talent properly.
After Peterson missed all but three games in 2016, he moved on by signing a two-year deal with the New Orleans Saints. After just four games, Peterson was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. Spending one year with the Red Birds before being shipped off to The Washington Football Team, formerly known as the Redskins.
In his first season with Washington, Peterson rushed for 1,042 yards on 251 carries and 7 touchdowns. Followed by a 211 touches, 898 yard, 5 touchdown season in year two with the WFT. Do you see what I am getting at here?
The following season with the Detroit Lions, Peterson went for 604 yards on 156 rushes and yet another 7 touchdown year. Most of which were done in the redzone.
The vision..the patience..the burst. Adrain Peterson has not lost a single step. In fact, he has gained a step or two because a couple of those teams above dis not use him correctly.
So my point is this. You pick up a stud in free agency for the minimum. Paste him in behind a line that will be improved, and have him show the youngsters the ropes..while pushing the running game forward? No brainer.
Long story short..the Steelers should sign Peterson, a proven veteran with fight, and we draft Harris..or (even case scenario) Travis Etienne out of Clemson, how dangerous would that backfield be? I am talking Jerome Bettis..Willie Parker dangerous. Because I see it as something defensive coordinators would want nothing to do with. #HereWeGo
